Objectives
- Promoting Romanian research in accordance with the most recent European
and international trends by improving the quality and valorization of
research results;
- Participation of research team members in European projects like FP7,
training specialists with a high level of competence;
- Developing the field concerning methods and technologies based on natural
resources with a view to achieve new intelligent polymeric materials
which provides progress in the advanced materials area
Specific Objectives:
- Exploring the possibilities to obtain intelligent multi-stimuli responsive
polymeric materials having various architectures varying with environmental
conditions, degradable and based especially on renewable resources;
- Obtaining by original procedures (chemical or physical) of new
multi-stimuli responsive structures and architectures combining the features
of natural and synthetic polymers, each of them being sensitive to a certain
stimulus;
- Assessment of multi-stimuli responsive character, of non-toxicity,
degradability and biocompatibility in view of designing new intelligent
biologically active polymer systems;
- Demonstrating the functionality of the multi-stimuli responsive innovative
architectures; Testing the obtained materials in vitro and in vivo,
for applications in medical and pharmaceutical fields;
